Here's a list of all the walking festivals and related events we know about happening between January and April 2017.

Crickhowell Walking Festival
A walking festival with a difference... There are more than 70 guided walks catering for all ages, abilities and interests - the only common element is that they all take place within the stunning landscape of the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Boscastle Walking Week

A range of walks and activities with local guides in the beautiful coastal village of Boscastle and the surrounding area.  In the tenth year of the festival, there will be an extended range of walks and activities to pick and mix from - suitable for all ages and abilities.  You could join one of our experienced and informed local guides on a ramble to waterfalls or steep climbs to Cornwall’s highest coastal cliff top, or meander along the country lanes and pathways that would have been familiar to the writer Thomas Hardy, whose life-changing visit to Boscastle produced poetry regarded by many as amongst the finest in the English language.

Walk Scilly 2017

Come and enjoy a week of themed, guided walks across all the islands.  Enjoy a week of fantastic full day and half day walks across all the inhabited islands and some of the uninhabited ones too.   Now in its 11th year, this very friendly and compact walking festival returns with new walks, new guides and an extended evening programme alongside the popular signature strolls that have helped to make Walk Scilly a firm favourite.

8th - 13th April


Walk Islay
Walks over six days around Islay, Jura and Colonsay. Take in the beautiful island scenery, from beaches and lochs to mountains and moors with a chance to see eagles, otters, deer, goats and chough.

Boroughbridge Easter Walking Festival
Join Boroughbridge Walkers are Welcome in the heart of Yorkshire for walks through time and entertainment, whether its a Roman Ramble, a visit to Rabbit Hill, a guided tour of The Inns of Boroughbridge, or a Treasure Hunt; there's something for all the family.

19th - 23rd April  (2017 dates)


Chepstow Walking Week

Located in the beautiful Lower Wye Valley a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty this walking festival has become firmly established on the walkers calender.  Great variation of walks from 3 - 20 miles led by experienced walk leaders who take you on lesser known routes with bags of interest.

Dawlish Walking Festival
The second Walking Festival in Dawlish celebrates the wonderful walking in the town, in nearby wooded hills, and by the sea along the red rocky coast.

Spirit of Kinder Day
2017 marks the 85th anniversary of the Mass Trespass on Kinder Scout, and this years Spirit of Kinder Day will be held at Edale Village Hall to celebrate the work of the National Trust and Moors for the Future in re-wilding and re-wetting Kinder Scout.  Also, various guided walks will be available to join during the weekend.

Frodsham Festival of Walks

Frodsham Festival of Walks is a series of guided walks around the Frodsham area, organised by Frodsham Town Council each year.

Haltwhistle Spring Walking Festival
The Northumberland walking festival returns.  We provide your gateway to Hadrian's Wall Country, Northumberland National Park and the North Pennines AONB.  Every day there is a longer and a shorter walk. On four days there will also be a Special Interest walk.

Ulverston WalkFest
Set on the fringe of the beautiful Lake District the annual Ulverston walking festival celebrates the town and surrounding area’s rich history. The festival programme will offer walks for all ages and abilities including the Sir John Barrow Amble, a walk in the footsteps of the Quakers, "Walks for Wheels", nature walks and map reading activities.

Talgarth Walking Festival

Celebrate Spring's arrival at Talgarth's fifth Walking Festival. We have castles and mountains, red kites and otters, an ancient hill fort, burial mounds, waterfalls, and a restored watermill.

Isle of Man Walking Festival

A 4-day, fully-guided festival over the early May bank holiday. Discover the Isle of Man’s fascinating history, culture, geography and wildlife in a beautiful landscape made for walkers. A festival pass £30.

Ironbridge Gorge Walking Festival
This year's festival is offering 57 walks over 9 days in and around the Ironbridge Gorge.  There is something for all abilities from short 3 or 4 mile afternoon or evening walks to all day treks with a different walk of approximately 20 miles on 7 of the 9 days and everything in between.

If you have not been before you have nothing to lose (well perhaps a couple of pounds!) and the opportunity to make some new friends.  To those who have joined us before, we look forward to welcoming you back, as friends.

Isle Walk2018
Following its rebirth last year, IsleWalk2018 returns with local and visiting walkers of all ages and abilities setting off on trails across the Island’s picturesque landscape. Walkers will get up close and personal with the best of the Island's stunning scenery, as they journey from the beautiful chalky cliffs of the west coast to the lush green rolling hills of the east.

North Devon and Exmoor Walking Festival
Now in its 16th year, the festival is one in two halfs - North Devon for the first half of the week, and Exmoor in the last.  Possibly the UKs most scenic walking festival...
